Description
Crispy homemade Mexican churros coated in cinnamon sugar, easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 1/4 cups water
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 stick cinnamon
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 quart canola oil
Instructions
1. Melt butter and add water, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon stick. Bring to boil then remove stick.
2. Add flour and stir until smooth dough forms.
3. Let dough cool then mix in egg thoroughly.
4. Transfer dough to piping bag with star tip.
5. Mix sugar and cinnamon in bowl.
6. Heat oil to 400°F.
7. Pipe dough into oil and fry until golden.
8. Drain and coat in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Maintain oil temperature for best results.
Serve warm for best texture.
