Easy bread pudding with vanilla sauce recipe made with simple ingredients for a classic, comforting dessert.
Ingredients
1/2 cup raisins
4 cups cubed white bread
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar (sauce)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F
2. Combine bread and raisins in bowl
3. Heat milk and butter until melted
4. Pour over bread and let soak 10 minutes
5. Add eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and mix
6. Transfer to greased dish
7. Bake 35–50 minutes until set
8. Combine sauce ingredients except vanilla
9. Cook until thick and boiling
10. Add vanilla and serve over pudding
Notes
Use stale bread for best texture
Serve warm for best flavor
