Description
Air fryer halibut recipes make a quick, healthy seafood dinner with tender, flaky fish and lightly crisp edges. This easy lemon garlic halibut cooks in minutes with olive oil, paprika, garlic, parsley, and fresh lemon. It’s perfect for busy weeknights, light family dinners, or a simple seafood meal that feels fresh and satisfying without deep frying.
Ingredients
4 halibut fillets, about 5 to 6 ounces each
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Lemon wedges, for serving
Optional: 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
Optional: 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels so the seasoning sticks well.
2. Brush both sides of each fillet with olive oil and fresh lemon juice.
3. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried parsley.
4. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the halibut.
5. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes.
6. Place the halibut fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Leave space between each piece.
7. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on thickness, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
8. Check that the thickest part of the fish reaches 145°F.
9. Let the halibut rest for 2 minutes before serving.
10. Serve warm with lemon wedges and fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
For a crispier version, mix panko breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese and press the mixture onto the oiled halibut before air frying.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
Thin fillets may cook in 6 to 8 minutes, while thicker fillets may need 10 to 11 minutes.
Use a food thermometer to avoid overcooking.
Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, salad, quinoa, potatoes, or cauliflower rice.
For a Cajun variation, replace paprika with Cajun seasoning.
For a Mediterranean variation, add oregano, lemon zest, chopped tomatoes, olives, and parsley after cooking.
