Yamitsuki Cabbage Salad is an addictive Japanese cabbage salad packed with garlic, sesame oil, and bold umami flavor.


Ingredients

4 cloves garlic

2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

2 tablespoons roasted white sesame seeds

1 tablespoon sake

1 teaspoon chicken or mushroom bouillon powder

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon fine salt

1 dash MSG

3/4 to 1 pound cabbage, chopped


Instructions

1. Gather all ingredients.

2. Grind garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, sake, bouillon, sugar, salt, and MSG into a smooth paste.

3. Place chopped cabbage into a large bowl.

4. Add seasoning paste and massage into cabbage until coated.

5. Transfer to serving bowl and garnish as desired.
