Description
These Spiderweb Chocolate Cupcakes are the ultimate Halloween treat—rich, chocolatey, and decorated with spooky webs made from melted chocolate.
Ingredients
1½ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
6 oz unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs, at room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup buttermilk, at room temperature
½ cup chocolate sprinkles
8 oz unsalted butter, at room temperature
1½ lbs powdered sugar (about 6 cups)
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
⅓ cup milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
¾ cup heavy cream
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a muffin pan.
2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cream butter and sugar, then mix in eggs and vanilla.
4. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk. Fold in sprinkles.
5. Pour into liners and bake 18–20 mins. Let cool.
6. Beat frosting ingredients together until fluffy and spread on cooled cupcakes.
7. Heat cream and pour over chocolate. Stir, cool, and pipe circles.
8. Drag a toothpick from center to edges to create spiderwebs.
Notes
Use white chocolate and food coloring for colorful webs.
Top with candy spiders for extra flair.
