Sourdough discard jalapeño popper bread is a cheesy, spicy, and easy quick bread perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 cup sourdough discard
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
2–3 jalapeños
2 green onions
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup extra cheddar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease pan
2. Mix cream cheese filling ingredients
3. Whisk wet ingredients together
4. Combine dry ingredients separately
5. Mix wet and dry to form dough
6. Fill dough pieces with cheese mixture
7. Arrange in pan and top with cheese
8. Bake 30-35 minutes until golden
Notes
Adjust spice by removing jalapeño seeds
Use fresh cheese for best melt
Let bread rest before slicing
