Description
Red Velvet Halloween Cookies are soft, chewy, and decorated with spooky chocolate chip spiders. Perfect for fall parties and trick-or-treat tables.
Ingredients
2 sticks Unsalted Butter, cubed
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 large Eggs, room temperature
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Super Red Food Coloring
1 cup Cake Flour
1 3/4 cup All-purpose Flour
1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Cornstarch
1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
2 cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips, divided
1 tube White cookie icing
1 tube Black cookie icing
1 tube Red cookie icing
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy (90 sec total).
2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
3. Stir in vanilla, red food coloring, and cocoa powder until blended.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk flours, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
5. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet on low speed until dough forms.
6. Mix in most chocolate chips, reserve some for decorating.
7. Chill dough 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 410°F. Line baking sheets.
8. Scoop 6 oz dough balls. Top with extra chips.
9. Bake 9–11 minutes. Let cool 30 minutes before decorating.
10. Decorate: Use icing to make spiders and webs. Let icing harden before serving.
Notes
Chill dough before baking to avoid spreading.
Use super red food coloring for deep color.
Let icing fully harden before stacking or storing.
