Easy overnight French toast casserole with cinnamon topping, perfect make-ahead breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
1 loaf french bread
8 eggs
2 cups half and half
1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
1. Grease baking dish
2. Slice and arrange bread
3. Mix custard ingredients
4. Pour over bread
5. Refrigerate overnight
6. Flip slices next day
7. Prepare topping
8. Spread topping
9. Bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes
Notes
Use stale bread for best results
Do not skip overnight soaking
Serve warm with syrup
