Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup syrup
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/3 cup heavy cream
Instructions
1. Preheat oven and prepare pan
2. Mix and bake shortbread base
3. Cook caramel until thick
4. Pour caramel over base and chill
5. Melt chocolate with cream
6. Spread chocolate layer and chill
7. Slice and serve
Notes
Use room temperature butter
Do not overcook caramel
Chill before cutting for clean layers
