Kentucky Butter Cake is a rich, moist pound cake soaked in a buttery vanilla glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup butter (glaze)
3/4 cup sugar (glaze)
2 tbsp water
2 tsp vanilla (glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
2. Grease and flour bundt pan.
3. Mix all cake ingredients.
4. Beat for 3 minutes.
5. Pour into pan and bake 55–60 minutes.
6. Prepare glaze without boiling.
7. Poke holes and pour glaze.
8. Cool completely and serve.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients.
Do not boil glaze.
Let cake cool before removing.
