Description

These Halloween Crinkle Cookies are rich, soft, and bursting with spooky style. A festive twist on a classic chocolate cookie, perfect for Halloween parties or cozy fall nights.


Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour (or 1:1 GF blend)

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)

2 large eggs (room temp)

1 tsp vanilla extract Gel food coloring (orange, purple, or black)

½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)


Instructions

1. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.

2. Beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Add gel coloring.

3. Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined.

4. Cover and refrigerate at least

1 hr (or 30 min in freezer).

5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.

6. Roll dough into

1 tbsp balls. Coat generously in powdered sugar.

7. Place 2″ apart and bake 10–12 min until cracked but soft in the center.

8. Let sit on baking sheet 5 min before transferring to a rack.

Notes

For stronger colors, use gel food coloring.

Chill dough thoroughly to get a better crinkle effect.

Double coat in sugar if needed.
