Description
These ghost cupcakes are chocolatey, moist, and topped with adorable vanilla buttercream ghosts. Perfect for Halloween parties!
Ingredients
▢1 (15.25oz) box chocolate or devil’s food cake mix
▢1 (4oz) box chocolate pudding mix
▢1 cup sour cream
▢1/2 cup water
▢1/2 cup vegetable oil
▢4 large eggs
▢2 tsp espresso powder (optional)
▢2 cups vanilla buttercream
▢Black frosting
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line muffin tins with paper liners.
2. Combine cake mix, pudding, sour cream, water, oil, eggs, and espresso powder in a bowl.
3. Mix until smooth. Fill liners 3/4 full.
4. Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5. Let cupcakes cool completely.
6. Pipe vanilla buttercream into swirls to form ghosts.
7. Add eyes with black frosting using a small round piping tip.
Notes
Chill cupcakes before decorating for best results.
Candy eyes or gel frosting can be used for decoration.
Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
