Description
Classic Quiche Lorraine with crispy bacon, creamy eggs, and rich cheese baked in a flaky crust. A timeless French-inspired dish perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dinner.
Ingredients
1 9-inch single pie crust
8 ounces bacon, cut into small pieces
1 large shallot, minced
4 large eggs
1 ½ cups half-and-half
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon grated nutmeg
pinch cayenne
4 ounces Gruyère cheese, grated
¾ ounce Parmesan, grated
1 tablespoon chives
chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare and chill the pie crust.
2. Blind bake the crust at 375°F for 20 minutes, then remove weights and bake 10 more minutes.
3. Cook the bacon until crisp and sauté the shallot.
4. Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cayenne.
5. Scatter bacon, shallots, and Gruyère into the crust.
6. Pour in the egg mixture and top with Parmesan and chives.
7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until set.
8. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use Gruyère for the most classic flavor.
Do not overbake or the filling may turn rubbery.
Let the quiche rest before slicing for cleaner pieces.
