Description
Juicy bourbon-soaked peaches meet a buttery pecan oat topping in this Southern-inspired crisp. It’s warm, cozy, and easy to make any time of year.
Ingredients
2 and 1/2 pounds fresh ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
2 and 1/2 Tbsp bourbon
2 Tbsp orange juice
1/2 tsp orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom (optional)
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. In a baking dish, toss peaches with bourbon, orange juice, zest, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon.
3. Sprinkle cornstarch over mixture and toss again. Set aside.
4. In a bowl, mix oats, pecans, sugars, cinnamon, cardamom, and flour.
5. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
6. Spread topping evenly over peach mixture.
7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until bubbling and golden.
8. Cool 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream.
Notes
Substitute apple juice for bourbon if desired.
Frozen or canned peaches work well—just drain them first.
Make ahead and freeze unbaked crisp for up to 2 months.
