This Blueberry Bagel Recipe creates chewy New York style homemade bagels packed with juicy blueberries and bakery-quality texture.
Ingredients
1 pack yeast
2 tablespoon sugar
1 ¼ cup warm water
3 ½ cups bread flour
¼ cup flour (for dusting blueberries)
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 cup blueberries
Instructions
1. Mix warm water and sugar.
2. Add yeast and let foam for 5 minutes.
3. Combine flour and salt.
4. Add yeast mixture to flour and mix.
5. Coat blueberries with flour and fold into dough.
6. Knead for 10 minutes.
7. Let rise 1 to 1½ hours.
8. Divide into 8 balls and shape rings.
9. Let rise 30 minutes.
10. Boil 1 minute per side.
11. Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.
12. Cool on wire rack.
Notes
Boil 2 minutes per side for extra chewiness.
Do not thaw frozen blueberries before using.
Slice before freezing for easy reheating.
