Description
Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches are tender, smoky, sweet, and tangy. This easy crockpot recipe uses chuck roast and pantry staples for a hearty family meal that works for weeknights, parties, and casual gatherings.
Ingredients
4 pounds boneless chuck roast, trim fat and discard
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
8–12 of your favorite rolls or buns for barbecue sandwiches
Instructions
1. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray then place roast in cooker.
2. In a medium size bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, liquid smoke, red wine vinegar, garlic powder, pepper and salt, then pour over roast.
3. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
4. Remove roast from cooker, place on cutting board and cut into thin slices, discarding fat.
5. Skim fat from sauce in cooker and discard.
6. Return sliced beef to cooker with the sauce, stir well, then cover and cook on low for an additional 25-30 minutes until heated through.
7. Use tongs to serve the barbecue beef on rolls or buns.
8. Top with favorite condiments and serve with desired sides.
Notes
Use chuck roast for the most tender and flavorful result.
Toast buns lightly if you want them to hold the sauce better.
Store leftover beef in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Freeze leftover beef in sauce for up to 3 months.
