A rich and easy baked French toast casserole with praline topping, perfect for overnight breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
Scale
1 loaf French bread
8 eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Dash salt
2 sticks butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup pecans
2 tbsp corn syrup
Instructions
1. Slice bread and arrange in baking dish
2. Mix eggs, milk, sugar, and spices
3. Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight
4. Preheat oven to 350°F
5. Prepare praline topping
6. Spread topping over casserole
7. Bake for 40 minutes
8. Serve with maple syrup
Notes
Use slightly stale bread for best texture
Do not overbake
